Why Yoga & Foundation Training?
At age 22 suffering from severe lower back pain I was diagnosed with a benign tumor on my L4 vertebrae, the osteoblastoma was impinging on the root nerve causing nerve spasm.
Laminectomy surgery followed, fusion of L3/4/5 including a bone graft from my hip and rib cage.
The following years I was very fragile, my initial spinal pain was gone but I had mild nerve damage to my left upper leg, inflammation of the sacroiliac joints and very little core strength.
At age 30 I felt very unhealthy, I was not happy in my work, not eating well and my body responded with inflammatory arthritis, primarily in my left ankle. I took a lot of medications to control inflammation and pain.
In 2004 I started down a path of self healing, I cleaned up my nutrition and made healthy lifestyle choices. I discovered the healing powers of yoga, therapy ball massage and foundation training. I enjoy lap swimming and hiking with my dogs.
My mission is to inspire others to take control of their healing, my motto is Self Care is Health Care, I want the people I work with to live a healthier & happier life and to do everything within their power to achieve this in every moment.
